“On Mic” with Jordan Rich

Recently, museum director Debbie Schiro was invited to speak all things “museum” with WBZ radio presenter, Jordan Rich. In his latest podcast episode, Jordan and Debbie discuss some of the key and most interesting items on display at the museum including new exhibits and unique artifacts you wont find anywhere else.

The pair also discussed the lasting legacy American Optical created, with their influence on many household items we take for granted today. And naturally, Estelle Glancy and her incredible story were discussed too.

Several legendary American Optical developments were also highlighted in the chat. Firstly the TODD-AO movie camera, which revolutionized Hollywood and the wide screen cinema possibilities, then the Lensometer which made individual lens prescriptions possible - a staple of the optical industry 100 years on from development.

Set aside 20 minutes and have a listen.
